His Will Homes Kicks Off Capital Campaign
November 2013 - His Will Homes kicks off its $2 million capital campaign to raise funds for its first supported living community. The home will provide permanent supported housing, psychiatric care, counseling, basic living needs, medication administration and social services. These supports will provide residents what they need to achieve mental wellness in a safe, family-like atmosphere.
“Homeless persons in need of psychiatric care are at risk of becoming a danger to themselves or others," says John Hitchens, president of His Will Homes. “When they have a permanent home, they can access the care they need. This reduces the likelihood that they will enter the criminal justice system or other housing situation's ill-equipped to help them achieve mental wellness.” Hitchens says that the organization’s mission will enable better use of taxpayer dollars and provide for some of the community’s neediest.
